Getting here

The OLC is a 15-minute drive from downtown Powell River, on a well-maintained gravel road. (Download a PDF map here)

Drive from Vancouver

Take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale (40 minutes). We suggest booking a reservation and using an Experience Card for a discount on fares. Drive up the coast for about 90 minutes through Gibsons, Sechelt and Pender Harbour (we can offer advice about what to stop and see on your way up). Take a second ferry – no fares – from Earls Cove to Saltery Bay (50 minutes). Drive into Powell River (about 30 minutes), and another 15 minutes into the woods.

Total commuting time: about five hours, but most of that is on the Ferries – a chance to take in the stunning Salish Sea.

Fly from Vancouver

Pacific Coastal Air offers several flights daily from the South Terminal at YVR to the airport near downtown Powell River. The flight takes about 20 minutes, and is well worth the coastal views. We can arrange transportation from the airport to the OLC, and help you get around while you’re here.

Drive from Comox

Take BC Ferries from the Little River terminal to Westview (90 minutes). The drive from the terminal to the OLC is about 20 minutes total.
