Canoes
Explore Powell Lake from the OLC by tandem canoe or for an additional fee have us deliver and pick up your canoes from another freshwater launch location
The world-renowned Powell Forest Canoe Route is a 57 km, 8 lake, 5 portage journey that takes roughly 5 days if you paddle the whole circuit. Portages range from 0.7 km – 2.8 km, and paddling stretches from 1 km – 28.5 km. There are several excellent freshwater paddling routes within the circuit. The best time to travel the route is from June – October. Currently the Centre rents the Yukon by Clipper Canoes. New boats are being added regularly to our rental fleet.
All canoe rentals include:
- 2 paddles and a spare
- 2 life jackets (PFDs), bailer and sponge
Yukon by Clipper
The CLIPPER YUKON is a good beginner canoe. It comes with two bucket style seats. Roomy, stable, glides nicely, tracks well, and resists being blown around in the wind.

Coming Soon – Mackenzie by Clipper
The 20-foot MACKENZIE is good for up to three adults, or two adults plus two children and 300 lbs. of cargo (1500 lbs with 8″ of freeboard). For its size, it is fast and responsive. Features bucket seats for bow and stern paddlers, a bench seat for middle paddlers.
