Staying at the Centre
Take A Break at the Lake! Situated on the grounds of the Centre at the intersection of the Sunshine Coast Trail and Powell Forest Canoe Route, The Cabins at Powell Lake offer several ways to Stay with Us based on your budget and the type of experience you are seeking. We offer accommodations for Groups. All our accommodations options come with free onsite parking.
Things to know:
- All Cabins are non-smoking and do not have TVs, WIFI or telephones.
- WIFI available in and around the Lodge.
- Pets are only allowed in Cabins with a $50.00 surcharge per animal.
- Cabins are available year-round.
Minimum stay applies to Cabins:
- 3 nights – June 20 – Sept. 6, 2022, and Christmas Holidays
- 2 nights – Sept. 7, 2021 – December 19, 2021; January 3-June 19, 2022

The Nest
Located in the Heart of the Centre’s gardens, this cabin is a cozy base camp for your groups area adventures. Suitable for up to four, this comfortable self-contained cabin comes fully set up for your groups stay. With one bedroom it’s a warm & comfortable space with queen size bed, a queen-sized pull-out bed, kitchenette with all the essentials, private bathroom/shower next door, sitting area and two deck areas with outdoor tables, chairs and BBQ. All linens, bath towels, hand soap are provided as well as some beach towels to use outdoors. In the kitchen you will find basic items such as spices, oil, vinegar, honey, sugar, a few teas and local coffee beans w/ grinder!

Hikers Haven
Take a break by the Lake! Suitable for up to four guests this lakefront Cabin is literally right on the Sunshine Coast Trail at KM 57.5. For through-hikers on the SCT this Cabin offers the chance to glamp it up for a night. With comfortable accommodations for 4 this cabin is set up for Hikers and other adventure seekers. Features 4 bunk beds, comfortable seating areas, table and benches as well as large covered porch, solar power. Comes with your own private washroom with hot shower up in the Centres main lodge. Bring your own sleeping bag!
Pricing: $80.00 per night (2 people) plus each additional person: $30.00 Minimum 2-night stay.

Wedding Packages
When you book your camp wedding at the Powell Lake Outdoor Learning Centre you book out our entire facility. Enjoy two-nights exclusive use of our secluded 5-hectare site to use as your own private wilderness park for your big day. Come and celebrate your love with a wilderness wedding at the Powell Lake Outdoor Learning Centre, full of rustic charm, off the grid goodness, and natural beauty.
Tree Camp
For our rental groups we offer tent camping at our Tree Camp which is nestled in the conifer forest above the lake. Situated between the trees the camp features eight large tent platforms with a large cooking gazebo, firepit and tables. Forest Campers have access to a washroom located a short distance away in our Main Lodge. Don’t have a tent? Don’t worry, we have you covered!
Pricing: $50.00 per tent site per night.

Where is this magical place?
The Powell Lake Outdoor Learning Centre is located overseas on the Upper Sunshine Coast, a 15-minute drive from downtown Powell River. From Vancouver, it’s a pleasurable (we promise) two-ferry, five-hour commute by vehicle, or a 20-minute flight from YVR. From Vancouver Island, it’s across the Salish Sea from Comox.
Bunk Houses
The Centre has 5 Bunk House cabins suitable for groups. Each cabin sleeps up to 12 people, in a combination of bunk, single and queen-sized beds. All cabins are accessible, and some have washrooms ensuite while others have access to washrooms in the adjacent Main Lodge. We do not supply bedding for these cabins. Minimum 2 night’s stay.
Pricing:$420.00 -$490.00 per night plus a $250.00 cleaning fee per cabin. Minimum 2-night stay.
